THE success story goes on...
The Halton Show now has a place in the heart of thousands of Haltonians after a weekend spectacular that will not be forgotten for weeks to come. In just three years the show has gone from a good idea into the biggest free two-day event in the country, and how well it was supported.
The Kamikaze Stunt Spectacular held the crowd in awe as they rode motorcycles through tunnels of fire, through blazing barriers and finally brought the whole place to a standstill with their last stunt.
THOUSANDS of Haltonians dropped in a the highly successful Halton Show last weekend — but none more spectacularly than these two skydivers from the Trailblazers Parachute Display team.
There were healthy attendances on both days of the Spike Island extravaganza, the biggest two-day free show in the country, with the international show-jumping competition, won by Geoff Glassard, and a blockbusting firework display attracting a particularly good turn-out on Sunday.
The Mid-Wales Axe Racing team showed off their skill with chain saws and axes which has made them famous all over the world.
Philip Hudson, from St. Helens, brought his magnificent pets along to the show to give a display of falconry
His Harris Hawk and Peregrine Falcone drew many admiring glances from visitors to the show as he calmly handed the sharp taloned birds.
NOSE-DIVE
One member of the team was hoisted 100 feet into the air in a car which was then dropped, nose downwards, into a.pile of scrap cars.
Only three stunt teams in the entire world have this particular stunt in their repertoire and the crowd gave them the applause it deserved
A RIDE on the bucking bronco added a wild west flavour to Halton Show, testing the balancing powers of visitors to Spike Island.
It provided an unexpected birthday surprise for Lily Wood from West Bank (right) who was 22 on Sunday while Fiona Penny manages a smile as she keeps a tight hold.
